Instant Boiling and Chilled Water at the Touch of a Button

Instant boiling and chilled water at the touch of a button. It’s the latest kitchen must-have for busy homes.

Stylishly designed to blend into your modern kitchen and declutter your bench top. These taps offer filtered boiling, chilled and sparkling water at the press of a button.

All taps have child safety locks in place. They are easy to use with a large push-down lever and a textured control ring that glows red for boiling or blue for filtered cold water mode.

Boiling Water

Boiling water is a simple but effective method of disinfecting water at home or in the wilderness. Heating the water to boiling point, or 100 degrees Celsius, kills most pathogenic bacteria that cause disease in humans and animals.

Instant boiling water taps are designed to be a convenient alternative to a standard kettle. The taps usually store a tank of boiling water and when you turn the handle they dispense hot water instantly at a predetermined temperature. This makes them ideal for use in kitchens where hot drinks and food preparation are regularly used, such as in a coffee bar or on an island.

Boil water taps come in a range of different styles and prices to suit your household needs and budget. Some models are a standard boiling only tap while others, such as 3 in 1 and 4 in 1 taps, can also dispense standard hot & cold water and filtered boiling water. The best option for you will depend on your usage, how often you cook and how much space you have under your sink.

It is important to note that boiling water is NOT appropriate for use if your water has chemicals in it (e.g. nitrates, solvents) as these will not be killed by boiling and may be inhaled or absorbed through the skin and mucous membranes. In these situations, contact your local health department for specific advice on treating your water.

Chilled Water

Many modern kitchens are fitted with 3 in 1 taps that dispense standard hot & cold water, boiling water and filtered water. These types of taps employ a range of different safety features to prevent people from accidentally turning on the boiling water supply and being scalded.

Chilled water is used to cool buildings by absorbing heat from the interior air and transporting it to the outside. Chilled water systems rely on plant equipment such as chillers, cooling towers and distribution pumps along with a well-insulated piping system to ensure the chilled water doesn’t lose too much energy in transit.

Buildings generate a lot of heat due to people, computers and large windows that let the sun in. To reduce this heat, chilled water is circulated through a network of pipes in a chiller plant and then transferred to a building via a coil in an air-handling unit. The coil is part of an air-conditioning unit that also includes fans, mixing boxes and dampers that serve to cool the air in a building.

A mechanical compression cycle is used to reduce the temperature of the chilled water in the piping system. Once the chilled water is at a desired temperature, it is pumped into buildings through bridge interface systems that control how the cooling is distributed. These bridge interface systems ensure the proper amount of chilled water is provided to each building based on the current cooling load.

Sparkling Water

When it comes to sparkling water, the bubbles are a real thirst quencher on a summer’s day. It also makes a refreshing mixer in cocktails and is great for iced tea.

But there are other things you can use sparkling water for too, from cleaning and washing cars to removing food stains and more. The trick is to look out for any added ingredients like sugar, citric acid and artificial sweeteners or sodium which can be bad for you.

Carbonated water can help relieve symptoms of indigestion, such as stomach pain and constipation. In one controlled study in 19 healthy young women, fullness scores were higher after participants drank 8 ounces of soda water, compared to still water (12).

Sparkling water can also be a great drink for parties. It can be enjoyed on its own or mixed with cordials and fruit juices for a tasty mocktail. It’s also a popular choice for champagne-inspired drinks, such as these light spring cocktails and aphrodisiac cocktails.

The beauty of sparkling water is that it can be enjoyed in the same quantities as still water, so it’s safe to drink in most instances. The ideal amount of fluid consumption for healthy adults is between 2.7 and 3.7 liters per day (13). If you’re looking to reduce your plastic waste, you can make your own bubbly water with a SodaStream or other similar machine.

Water Filter

Water filters remove impurities from water to produce cleaner, healthier drinking and cooking water. They can reduce harmful chemicals, remove minerals and particulates that affect taste and hardness or kill microbes such as giardia and cryptosporidia. Different types of water filters address different contaminants. Before purchasing one, decide what you want to filter out of your water and choose the appropriate device for that purpose.

There are several kinds of water filters, from simple pitchers to water purifiers that attach to a faucet and even whole-house treatment systems. Some are very inexpensive and can be easily built at home. Others are more expensive and require special tools or expertise to build.

Mechanical filters use screens, woven materials or meshes to remove large debris and solids from water. These are very effective and often inexpensive, but can clog over time.

Chemical filters use charcoal granules to filter out chemical impurities using a process called adsorption. Activated carbon has huge surface area, packed with tiny nooks and crannies that attract and trap chemical impurities, including toxins and bacteria.

A simple water treatment system for camping requires only a stove, fuel and pot to combat the full spectrum of biological pathogens. Bringing water to a rolling boil for one minute is the most effective method, especially at high altitudes. Other methods include using tablets that iodinate the water to kill cryptosporidia, though these may add an unpleasant flavor and aren’t effective against giardia or other protozoa cysts.
